For years, my dream everyday carry (EDC) setup was simple: just my phone. But we’re not quite there yet. Apple Pay handles most payments, but I still need a physical driver’s license, and Virginia hasn’t rolled out digital IDs yet. On top of that, I’ve got three house keys and a car key that I can’t exactly ditch.
That’s the struggle—finding ways to minimize what I carry without sacrificing what I actually need. Especially now that I’m running both the Google Pixel 10 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro (and sometimes even the iPhone 17 Air), I can’t risk keys scratching up my phones in the same pocket. And I refuse to keep anything in my back pockets—sciatica made sure of that.
So, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect solution.

Around the Studio
It’s been a busy stretch around here, both in front of and behind the camera. On the review side, we’ve covered a wide range of products lately, everything from the Pixel 10 Pro and Remarkable Paper Pro to iPadOS 26, projectors, e-bikes, and even some quirky AI companions. These reviews have been a fun way to explore the balance of form and function while leaning into more curiosity-driven storytelling.
We’ve also been testing new formats. The Steward’s Journal continues to evolve as a more personal, behind-the-scenes show where I share the thought process and pressures of balancing family life, business, and creating content. Our weekly live streams are also becoming a bigger part of how we connect with the community, experiment with ideas, and talk tech in a more relaxed format.
Behind the scenes, we’re refining the content pipeline and experimenting with growth strategies, from dialing in thumbnails and titles to exploring advertising channels like Google Ads to push videos further while staying true to our organic audience. The team includes Ben on editing, Hunter on cinematography, William on brand outreach and comms, and Josh on light content publication. They have been a huge part of keeping momentum as we head into the fall push.
And speaking of the months ahead, the holiday season is just around the corner, which means we’re already gearing up for bigger campaigns, new partnerships, and more ambitious projects. It’s shaping up to be a strong finish to the year.
All the best,
Spencer
