Around the Studio
It’s been a busy and exciting stretch here at the studio. We’ve welcomed William as the newest member of our team. He joins Ben (video editor), Hunter (B-roll videographer), and Josh (brand communications).
Team culture continues to be a big focus. Everyone except William now has a Meta Quest 3, which we use for virtual team meetings and gaming sessions in the Metaverse. It has been a surprisingly great tool for both bonding and brainstorming, and we are already set on picking up the next-generation model as soon as it is released.
On the production side, we have been experimenting with a NAS setup to centralize our growing library of production files. Right now, it is running on a single 4TB drive, which is a little risky, but we are looking to add a second drive and configure RAID for proper redundancy.
Our live stream series is currently running on Fridays for an 8-week test. It has become a casual space to talk tech, business updates, and behind-the-scenes life at the studio. Each week, we see more familiar names pop up in chat, which has been a fun way to grow community engagement.
We are also refining how we handle the constant flow of brand offers, especially for smaller accessories like chargers and cables. One idea in the works is bundling compatible products into “buyer’s guide” style videos, though brand restrictions on competitor placement make it tricky.
The Form + Function website continues to grow as a curated, shoppable hub for products we have tested and approved. Every listing is something we genuinely use and recommend, often with discount codes or affiliate links. We are also working on refreshing the newsletter to keep the minimal, premium look while experimenting with new content formats.
Overall, we are building toward a bigger vision. The goal is not just to be a YouTube channel but a multi-platform tech media brand. This includes video, social content, live streams, our website, and the newsletter, all centered on thoughtful, well-designed products.
