I’ve been using the iPhone 16 Pro for about nine months now, and honestly, it’s kind of the most Apple thing ever. It’s not flashy or groundbreaking, but it’s so quietly refined that older phones start to feel clunky. The more rounded corners, the seamless titanium frame, and even the way iOS seems designed specifically for this hardware all feel incredibly intentional.
The camera system is still a bit of an eyesore, but in practice, it’s perfect for chasing kids around with a zoom lens ready to go. I still have mixed feelings about the new camera button, but I’ve come to appreciate Dynamic Island more than I expected. It’s the little things, the ones you barely notice until you go back to an older phone, that really make this one stand out.

Around the Studio
We’ve kicked off something new, Tech Talk Fridays. It’s a weekly livestream we’re experimenting with for the next couple months, airing around lunchtime on Fridays. The goal? Keep it relaxed, make space for community, and talk through the kinds of things we’re already chatting about off-camera: new product drops, design rumors, tech that excites us (or confuses us), and a peek behind the curtain at what it actually looks like to run a small content business around tech.
There’s something fun about slowing down and just riffing with the team. Ben, our video editor, has been cranking out some of our favorite long-form edits lately. Hunter, who you’ve probably seen more than you realize (his hands are basically the star of half our B-roll) is the guy behind the camera making everything look sharp. And while Josh is currently in Madagascar on a mission trip (and yes, my inbox is crying without him), he’s usually the one fielding emails from brands and keeping our partnerships moving.
We’re also testing new gear and prepping reviews behind the scenes—Nothing’s new Phone 3 has us intrigued, Terra Kaffe is teasing something smaller (and hopefully more counter-friendly), and we’ve been playing with a Raspberry Pi voice assistant that somehow feels more interesting than Siri right now. There’s a lot moving, and it’s been cool to open that process up more through these livestreams. The hope is to build a bit more of a community here - something less polished, more human. If you’ve got tech you think we should check out or just want to hang out for 30 minutes on a Friday, we’d love to see you in the chat.
Also, we still haven’t officially named the series, so if you’ve got a better idea than Tech Talk Fridays… we’re all ears.
All the best,
Spencer

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
